My tractor book is not an exact match to my tractor. Book shows a two canister fuel filter system with a bleeder valve. What I have is a single square type of filter with no apparent bleeder valve. It looks like I remove a couple of bolts to replace the filter---but what about bleeding the line? What is the procedure? Thanks Chad

The "square" filter may be the glass one that the later JD models (30 series, 40 series, 50 series) used. There is a kind of spring that holds it on. Very easy to change. just pop off the spring. First use the lower plug to drain before removal, and the upper plug to bleed it after changing the filter. just my $0.03.

if the filter is the original setup, then you either have a very late model 3020 (above about 150000 serial) or an older model that was retrofited with newer style fiter. to bleed the filter you need to loosen the plug on the top of the side of the filter housing, opposite the outlet line, and bleed the system normally.
usually this kind of retrofit was done im order to accomodate the larger, 12v starters.
