How hard would it be to put a stock diesel engine from a 4020 into a 4020 with gas engine?

Swaping the engines is an unbolt the gas and bolt in the diesel. There are several other variables to consider. You will need the throttle linkage from a diesel tractor, you will have to run a return line back to the tank. The diesel will require 2 batteries and boxes and associated battery cables. You will also need a diesel starter. The easiest way to do this is buy a rebuilt 12 volt starter, since your gasser is already 12V. Also you may have to set the charge rate up on the voltage regulator since you are now charging 2 batteries and the diesel starter draws alot more than the gas. Its not a bad job to do if you line up everything you need beforehand and have the proper equipment to remove the front of the tractor and frame rails in one piece and lift out the engine. Last one I did took about 12 hours time.
