A while back I asked for some recommendations on doing a fix on the Steering Shaft UJoint on my 420. I got a recommendation that a 1/2 drive socket UJoint could be fitted in. Well here is the $12.99 fix. I have machine work like this done at the shop so that was another $40 for labor. This fix works like new. Since I have power steering, I estimate that it will be in good condition well past when one of my grand kids dispose of the tractor. Please don't tell the correct police that I did not install a new one from deere lol.

I'm very interested since I have the same tractor with the same U-joint problem. I would have emailed you but you didn't include your address in either post! thanks Charles
