I sent to the JD archives to trace a JD 50. They came back with the info that the tractor was delivered to West Springfield, Mass. The tractor is now in the Canadian Maritime Provinces. My question is (How did it get here?) Was there a dealer in West Springfield that JD sent the tractors to and they in turn distributed them to dealers in the CAN Maritimes? or did someone from Nova Scotia just go down to Mass and purchase it? Any info would be helpfull. Thanks in advance Roger

Roger,

I would guess that your Model 50 has had a few owners in its 50 years of life. More than likely it was not delivered new to Nova Scotia. At some point, between owners, it probably hitched a ride with a tractor jockey and ended up across the border. I own a Model 50-W that was originally shipped to California and now resides in Minnesota. I own a 420U that was originally shipped to California, but has also lived in Arizona, Iowa, and now Minnesota. Those John Deere tractors do get around.
