I have a 50 A that has an add-on waterpump; not a factory waterpump. The only identification on the pump is the number 51. Is this a Johnson product? I need to replace the seals and bearings. Local JD part's man has no clue on what brand or kit to use for repairing this waterpump.

I can't help you with your pump identification, but does it look like the link I posted? Hopefully it will help someone else.

Interesting setup, never seen one before. Your Deere parts guy might not be the best guy for the job at hand if he's worried about part numbers. Most automotive water pumps use the exact same bearing assembly. And most automotive seal setups are identical to the one we have on our shallow well jet pump for the house. Conclusion - get somebody who has rebuilt several water pumps, he already has the parts you need on the shelf.

I used to keep the seals for house pumps in seperate boxes with manufacturer written on the box. Then I looked inside and found them all to be the same seal, so now I keep them on a wire loop.

My dad recalled that he might have used parts from an automotive pump to repair the pump previously.
