Front mounted 3 point hitch

I have a neighbor that wants to sell me a front mount 3 point hitch and dozer type snow blade to go on my 3020 with wide front.

I am concerned because the mount and blade puts all the pushing force on the frame ahead of the engine. The front hitch is a Buckeye brand and the snow blade is a shop modified 7'truck blade.

What are your opinions on a front mount 3 point hitch on a 3020 and it's use with a front snow blade? He has used it for years on his 4010 and it appears to have worked well.

Appreciate your input.

George

A search on Google for Buckeye Hitch turned up the link below plus many others, for your reference. I have never used a front mount 3-point hitch, but several neighbors here in sunflower country used these units to push their 8-30" row crop cultivators with good success. I'm sure it would work for your application, especially with a little care!

Doesn't anyone have experience or opinion on this?

European tractors sometimes have a front mounted 3pt hitch, so it apparently works OK. I have seen various truck mount snowplows adapted to tractors, which have worked OK. I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. Have often wondered why truck snowplow manufacturers have all come up with their own mounting systems, when the 3pt seems like a real simple solution.
