The clutch on my 50 was squealing for just a moment when it was engaged, so I adjusted it. All of the facings seemed to be in good condition. After the adjustment, the clutch was quiet when engaged. Today (first time I've used the tractor since the clutch adjustment) when I applied the clutch, it is squealing again. Any thoughts?

Edward, if it's a metallic squealing the pulley or clutch parts are hitting something. If it's a brake squeal type of noise you probably have glazed linings and/or linings with feathered edges.
~Remove the linings & sand lightly with sand paper & lightly sand the steel disks with sand paper, then clean all the disks & steel disks using brake clean.....

Clooney,

The sound is a grabbing/chattering/squealing sound that is just at the point of engagement and disappears the moment the clutch is engaged. It seems to be worse the higher the gear. No sound if the clutch is engaged with the transmission out of gear. Does that mean anything? I will pull the facings and sand them. Thanks.

Edward, it sure sounds like glazed clutch disks.
