Today, I took the belt pulley off my 1935 D. I had problems with oil dripping from behind the clutch. It looks like the oil hole was plugged. I would like to pull the gear cover off and clean the sludge from the bottom of it.

Is the gear cover just a cover, or will I have parts (bearings, springs, etc...) falling all over the floor?

Thanks

Cheg, that 1st reduction cover should come off without much of a problem. There isn't anything behind it that will pop out.
