I was wondering how you can mount a JD 158 loader on a 1972 4020 with a cab. Isn't the batteries going to be in the way of the loader bracket? If you have a plat form tractor, the batteries are located under the plat form and you don't have to worry about them being in the way.

Thanks for your help,

marc

Has someone moved the batteries foreward? When the old boxes get worn out or they get tired of fighting cables under the platform guys move them foreward. I would think you could still have them under the platform even with a cab.

The 158 will bolt right up to the tractor without any problems, unless the loader has mounts for a Dubuque tractor,2940-2950. The brackets should only come to the rear of the engine frame, clutch housing. What model tractor was this on before? Or does this 158 have the spool valves mounted on the right rear support.

I don't have the loader, but I am looking at a 4020 with a cab. I want to add a loader to it. We have a 4020 plat form tractor with a 158 loader and the brackets come back are almost under the starter. With the batteries under the plat form, there isn't any problem, but looking at a 4020 with a cab, the batteries appear to be in the way.
