Howdy,

My clutch works fine and has good, strong return tension. However, both my brake pedals have "0" tension/recoil, meaning when I hit bumps, they easily come back toward me when I'm driving. I am trying to determine if my brake/clutch return spring [Part # M 335 T] is missing [can not locate in externally] or it is internal and I can not see it. The MT parts description book [Item # 14} does not help me in determining the location. Let me know if you have any questions and I will post back.

Thank you in advance,
tom

Tom, If the MT is like a 40 thru 430 It will have two springs underneath the right foot rest, one for each pedal, they will hook to the bottom side of the footrest. Should be obvious when looking at it from the bottom. If the pedals go too far down, you need to adjust the freeplay to one inch. The clutch does not have an external spring, it is inside the housing.

Thanks Wayne. I have adjusted the brake play per the operations manaual...that is fine...it is the opposite movement. I can not see any external springs. Now I need to know if MT's and 40-430's are the same.

regards,
tom

Tom, the 40T & MT are not the same. Your springs go up closer to the brake assemblies [problem is I don't remember where]. It's been a few years since I have worked on any MT brakes so can't remember where they attached. It seems there was a clip or something like that those springs hooked to..... ..

Clooney/Wayne,

thanks,
tom
