What is the reason not to get gasket sealer on the "fire ring" of the head gasket? Also would you recommend re-torqueing more then one time? Thanks.

Donny-B, there isn't any gasket sealer [at least that I know of] that will take the temperatures that those fire rings see. If gasket sealer is put on the fire rings it is part of the gasket compression equation & if it burns away if will lower the gasket retention at that critical area. Sealer also impedes the transfer of heat from the fire ring to the block & head.
~It probably isn't the end of the world if sealer is put on those rings & many people do, I just personally think the gasket fire ring heat transfer to the block & head is much better without any sealer at that joint, [especially if the tractor is worked hard].
~I do recommend a head re-torque after a few hours of running & a few heating & cooling cycles. There might be some merit of re-torquing a 3rd time but I haven't ever found it necessary.....
