Hi guys:

What's the value of a JD 435? It has new tires all around it, almost 5,000 hours, 3 point. It has no hydraulic remote or power steering, I think the hydraulic remote would be very easy to adapt, just get the parts from a salvage yard. The steering needs a little work but I think this is the only thing needing repair besides the lights. The sheetmetal is in very good condition, not much rust, just needs cleaned up and painted.

So my questions to you: What's it worth? Aren't these tractors quite collectible? How many were made? Are parts easily obtainable? How do they pull in the antique tractor pulls compared to JD B's, 430-530's, etc? I love the little screamin jimmy.

Thanks,

John

John:Its always worth what ever you can get. I'am no expert but have three of them. Probably between 4500 and 9500 depending what you have on it. Bought one last fall with a bad engine but the rest of the tractor was almost perfect. Paid 8500 for the tractor with new rubber, power steering and float ride seat. Had the engine rebuilt for 5000 and put 300 in seals and misc. 2 Tractor are basicly like new.1 has no hydraulic remote and I removed the remote from the other 2. We use them for show and antique tractor pulling. My wife has one and I the other. My 435 puts out 45 hp we hope to get at least 50 hp on her new engine. We both pull in the 4000 lb class and do real well. Tractors must be stock in our club. B's and 430's no competion for us. 901 ford lots of competion. I would say they are collectibles. I have been told between 4200 and 4500 built although I am not sure. I have a lot to learn about 435's Glen Taylor has been my best source of information. I am looking for power steering for #3.
