I'm in need of a little help. I have been looking at a 430 to purchase. I do not have any experence with these. Is there anything I should watch for or look out for? Also options to look for? Thank you for any and all help.

Robert, the 430 is my favorite, but they do have some weak points. Gear noise in the trans, is common and costly to repair. They have straight cut gears and after 40 odd years will become noisy. The touch-o-matic is notorious for leaking at the rockshafts, unless it is past serial number 158438. As to options they were available with power-adjust rear wheels, power steering, live pto, float ride seat, tachometer, direction reverser, 5-speed transmission, remote outlet, heavy duty fenders, all the comforts of a modern tractor.
