My problem is that I checked my sliding gear shaft, Its loose you can move it around inside the sliding gear, Would it be a good bet to say the bearing is shot, And what will it take to fix?
Thanks for any help!

Gary, depending on the amount of movement, & the direction of the movement, it could have worn bearings, or the input shaft bearing(s) could be worn, or the case bore could be worn, or all of the above.
~If you're lucky you might be able to slide the shaft out the L/H side of the case after removing the L/H bearing snap ring. ~The problem is; if the bearings are worn or pitted on that sliding gear shaft all the rest of the trans bearing probably are the same way...

Thanks Clooney, There is alot of movement, The shaft wallers around the entire inside of the sliding gear. The reason I checked it was I could here a knocking sound coming from the transmission area.

Thanks, Gary
