Trying to test the fuel pressure on 730D and the bleeder looks like 3/8 bolt threads. What kind of fitting would screw in there and be able to use a pressure gauge on the other end?

Scott, I made mine from a brass GM battery cable extension used to replace the battery cable attaching bolt in the cable [battery end] those were used to add power tap wires to the positive battery cable. The 3/8 -16 threads were used on one end & the other end was drilled & tapped to female 1/8" pipe with a small hole drilled all the way through for the pressure feed. You will probably need a dampened gage or add an adjustable shut off valve in the gage circuit to dampen the needle oscillations to get a steady reading. ~You could probably braze a pipe fitting to a short 3/8"-16 bolt then drill the center & use that for a tap.....

Thanks Clooney. I started trying to make a fitting like your second suggestion yesterday evening and I thought I'd better check on this board because I figured you had a better suggestion. Now for what brought all this on- I bought another 730D at auction yesterday and drove it 45 miles home. It starts so much better than the one I just overhauled, I just had to have it. Now trying to diagnose my older one. Thanks
