I've got two 720D's and they both have front wheels that are stamped "JD 1299 R". What would these have been on originally? Interestingly, one has a Roll-O-Matic off a 520 and the other has the super heavy duty Roll-O-Matic off a 4010 etc.

PFJ:

I don't know about JD1299's. Are you sure they're not JD1290's ?

I had JD1274's on my 70D. When we broke one, the dealer sold us a JD1290, saying it was heavier and THE replacement wheel. When I was fixing her up, I saw cracks in the original JD 1274, so I got another JD1290 to match. They are indeed heavier, and have the center (weld flanges outward) reversed compared to a JD 1274.

Now on your 520, for 5.50x16 rubber, it called out a JD1268. On a 620, for 6.00 rubber, JD1290 superseded JD1274 ar S/N 6218789. On a 720, JD1290 superseded JD1274 ar S/N 7223190.

Hope that's what you were looking for !

Hey Frank,

No, the wheels are not 1290's, I have them on my 730D, plus I put on my magnifying glasses to get a good look at the numbers. I'm familiar with the 1268's and 1274's as they are on the 620 and 720G, these 1299's look like them rather than the style of the 1290's. I'm thinking they are off a new generation, or maybe an implement, they are a 16".

BTW did you check out the PTO shield on ebay?

PFJ:

Can someone answer if a JD1299 wheel was used on a 4010 or similar tractor ? It would be nice to know that they fit. Do they look ok and not rub anywhere ?

Frank

Frank, My master parts index says the JD1299R wheel is for the 2510, 3020, and 4020, probably other NG tractors too. Bob
