I know this is the JD board and im a JD man but i have found a 5 foot oliver pull type tool carrier. It is a rope pickup. Right now it has 3 stiff shanks like 3 subsoilers. I want to change it it has plenty of holes to add other types of shanks. Now i want it to be like a field cultivator. Something i can use to break up the top of the ground. Now what would be the best type of shanks the easiest to find and also price is a factor. But now someone help me if youve got an answer. Thanks Chris

The red flag on your post is PRICE. If not for that I would say go to your J.D. dealer and get the sales lit on tool bars. It covers all the shanks of all sizes of tool bars. The price limit on your post limits you to farm sales and junk yards. If you find what you want you will have a complete unit and be ready to go cheaper then buying new shanks for your toolbar.

We ranch and have all pasture and hay (no other crops) and use a J.D. 3 pt tool bar with coil shanks. It realy works good for us in our rocks and clay. Ours is a 3 PT but I have seen those style shanks on a J.D. pull type with spoked rubber tires so they have been around a long time. I have picures if you are interested.
