I had my 8640 dyno'd the other day and it produced 268 HP. at the Pto. The John Deere specs for this tractor is about 235 - 240 hp has anybody else found their tractor in this range or higher?

Don't complain. Just watch the water temp and oil pressure and watch it pull!!

It's extrememely common to see this on Deere tractors (most tractors as a matter of fact), even when the fuel hasn't been turned up. Most of the dozens of Deeres I've dynoed have produced around 10% or so more hp at the PTO than they're rated for. It's rare to find one that will put out exactly rated hp, even when brand new. There are also big variances between dynos and dyno operators, and PTO hp numbers usually have to be taken with a grain of salt. They may show you if you're drastically low or high on hp, but other than that you have to assume that there is some error, as not all dynos are calibrated as often as they should be or operated properly.
