I'm putting new clutch cover retaining clips on my b's clutch pulley and was wondering the best way to put these in. They are 1/4" x 3/8" steel rivits. Looks like it'll be fun with the round surface. Any ideas?

Ed, that is an easy job if you have done it before & can be a little harder if it's your first time.

~If the pulley is off the tractor just use a short hydraulic jack inside the pulley to buck the rivet & either heat the rivet on the outside of the pulley & flatten it into the chamfered pulley hole with a flat punch & hammer, or you can do it cold with an air chisel using a flat ended hammer tool.

~If the pulley is still on the tractor you can buck the rivet using a flat piece of steel inside the pulley using 2 C clamps to hold the steel tight to the rivet head & pulley. The rivet can then be flattened using either the heat or air chisel method.

~I have heard of people shortening the rivet slightly then using a welder to weld the rivet into the pulley chamfer but I haven't ever tried that myself. I use the air chisel method with a 5/16" flat ended drift tool & find it looks exactly like a production rivet job..... ....
