I RECENTLY PURCHASED A LATE MODEL 730 GAS. I NOTICED WHEN IT'S RUNNING THERE SEEMS TO BE A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF GEAR NOISE OR BEARING NOISE COMING FROM THE GOVENOR ON THE FLYWHEEL SIDE. IS THIS UNUSUAL? DO GOVENORS NEED TO BE REBUILT FROM TIME TO TIME. WHAT'S INVOLVED? IT MAKES THE SAME AMOUNT OF NOISE WHEN THE PUMP IS ENGAGED OR DISENGAGED. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE WELCOME.

Somebody probably left some of the shims off the goveror cover and the gears are meshed in a new position. You may need to add a few spacers.
