My JD 4010 is on my Dad's place 1500 miles away. He thinks he needs to get the batteries out but can't figure out how to do it with the cab on.
Can someone tell me if there is a way to remove them other than the side doors?
Thanks Al

Doesn't the tractor cab have a removeable panel in the floor? If not, just remove the cables and remove the battery and box as a unit. When the box tilts outward, it can be lifted out of its mounting brackets, if there is enough vertical clearance to the cab floor.

On my 4020, I unbolt the whole battery box, and lower them out the bottom using a come-along hung from a bar passed through the cab, and suspended from outside the cab. I would think a 4010 would be similar. While it could be done without the come-along, the use of one makes it an easy one-man task. I install new Deere batteries, and have only had to do this 3 times in 20+ years.
