I am working on a 620 that is getting gas in the crankcase. I have replaced the sediment bowl assembley but still the same problem. The oil lines did have gas in them when I removed the old sediment bowl so I thought we had discovered the problem. I can go into the carb but I really doubt that this is the problem especially when the oil pressure lines that control the on/off were filled with fuel.

Orangeman, it sounds like you missed something in the oil pressure fuel shut-off, or there is a pin hole in the strainer casting. ~Pull the oil line loose going to the oil pressure fuel shut-off & place a can or other container under it & let it sit over night. If there is gasoline in the container you still have a problem with the auto shut-off.

bear with me; im not very geeky when e-mailing and other computer stuff. i have a 620 and either the rubber diaphram just above the sediment bulb has a hole in it, deere installed these as a safety measure, no oil pressure, no gas from the tank. or on mine the carb float stuck and the gas over flowed down the intake to the engine. good luck..... ...butch.

thanks for the suggestions. I don't think it's leaking at the carb but it could be. I will try disconnecting the oil line overnight to make sure I still have the problem. The sediment bowl and the diaphragms are new so they shouuldn't be leaking unless they came defective.
