Lavoy, there could be many reasons for your engine acting like it does & you are attacking it correctly by eliminating them one at a time. ~The biggest problem you are facing is, with all those new parts that were installed you really don't know what you have or if it ever ran correctly to begin with. ~I guess if I were trying to track your problem down I would start with a timing light & see if the distributor advance is working & that it is [advancing in the correct direction when the engine is sped up]... ~If ok there I would do a cylinder balance test & with the engine running at a decent RPM, short out one plug wire at a time & see if the RPM drop was the same for all cylinders & if they appear to produce the same power. ~If still nothing stands out I would install a manifold vacuum gage & see if the manifold vacuum is staying up under light load & at higher RPM's [if not suspect an intake or exhaust restriction or retarded cam]. If you could find another like tractor to compare vacuum readings with it would tell you a lot. [sorry I havent worked on enough 1010s to give you a vacuum comparison]. ~The fuel flow to & through the carb is still a big contributor to lack of power & lazy performance so make sure you dont have a restriction in the fuel system or carb inlet. Make sure the carb is working correctly & it is the correct one for your tractor. If exhaust gas is finding it's way into the intake manifold or combustion process it will really hinder proper combustion so make sure there isn't a problem there. ~You might want to pull the rocker cover to check for tight valves & lack of valve lift [low valve lift will give good compression but almost no power. Weak valve springs will also cause low power & lazy performance. If possible try to find the cam specs & make sure the cam is installed correctly & probably just as important, make sure the cam is the correct one & ground correctly for your engine ~Sorry I cant give you any more specific info but the 1010 isnt one of my strong suits.
