Has anyone seen a 70 gas with the gas fill cap in the center of the hood?
Thanks

JD70-----

Yes! At Serial #7012350 (which corresponds, roughly, with June, 1954) several minor changes were made to the 70. Included were updates to the Power Steering pedestal unit, power take off and moving the gas filler down towards the front of the tractor. Safety and convenience were cited in the bulletin to dealers.

On all-fuel 70's the small gasoline tank filler stayed at the center far rear of the hood. The main tank fill and the gasoline tank fill for gasoline tractors was 4/5 of the way back on the left side above the left spark plug. Seems the occasional hurried farmer slobbered fuel and lit the tractor and surrounding area/equpment/buildings. At serial #7012350 the gasoline filler on gas tractors and main tank filler were moved to the front left of the hood. The hoods center crease kept most spills deflected off the exhaust stack.

It is not an all fuel. It is just an early model 70 gas. Do you guys no how far out the needles on the carb should be on this tractor. It has the duplex carb.

Thanks Again

Both my 70 gas standards have the cap on the side.
