Yes. Update it to 21 to 1 "N" series sleeves/pistons, N35 injectors, new vlaves and seats, new style blower end plate oil seals and the latest HD lifter spring/valve spring kits. We assume the 440 already had a diesel. Other 2-53's may have had an engine oil cooler/spray cooled pistons that the Deere's didn't. Also 40 or 45 injectors produce too much power for the drive train.

Your welcome. Come to think of it Deere used bypass oil filtration. Most DD applications used full flow filtration system bolted up to the oil cooler. DD's are the king of mix and match parts. You can even reverse engine rotation, which end of the block is which and starters/blowers side to side.

thanks again g tayler, yes the reguler 253 has a full flow filter and my old deere 253 has a bypass filter. i was hopeing to put a plate over the new filter mount and put a bypass some where else or put a in and out on this plate and run the bypass filter from that, because the full flow filter won't fit in my frame. is this feasable?

I have seen a 435 with the 2-53 still wearing the blower emergency shut-off damper, full flow oil filter and oil to water cooler. The Deere issue water pump will cover the extra right side block ports.

i think the only way i can use the full flow filter will be to cut the frame or make another bracket and relocate the oil filter.thanks again.
