Does anyone know what color (if any) the JD repair block / anvil thing for repairing the sickle and rock gards of the sickle mowers was painted?
Mine was involved in an arson fire and I sandblasted all the burnt gunk off of it. Now it needs something to protect it from rust.
Thank you all.

The one we had was unpainted from day one and dates to the early forties. Purchased with a # 5 mower.
