Bullfrog, make sure that you are not trying to bale too tight. I know every hay farmer wants to pack as much hay into a bale as possible, but remember, your poor old baler is close to 50 years old. Unless you want to replace the twine disc and holders, you may simply have to bale looser bales than you want to. Having said this, if you can assure me that the bales are not very tight and the knotters still miss tie, than new twine holders and maybe new twine disc are in order. Steve

Just trying to get them tight enough to run them thru a NH bale wagon. All they want to do now is bannana up and lose the strings.

Been a long time.....knot slipping with heavy bales...the twine holder need to hang onto the ends a little longer. tighten the twine disks a bit. this depends a lot on the string. I remember when the smaller plastic string came out that some balers had to have the twine disk replaced.

HI Bullfrog, I would say most of the problems start with the twine, first start with a good 9000 twine. Second look at the twine make sure it has no wet spots or damage. If you are still having trouble I can look in a old 77 book I'm guessing they are the same knoter. Remember make one adjustment at a time, ALL WAYS!!; (you can get messup by getting a book and going thought the knotter, and ajusting the whole system so one adjustment and try by hand if you can; make sure something is not broking or binding ( this maybe hard one the 78 )). And I'll add you have to sometime try adjustments one way or the other to make it work if she is worn, I had an baler one time the twine disc was set way out to make it work. E-mail me if You need me to look it up. [email protected] Have a Good One !! Teddy
