Purchased a white 543 planter today. Anybody know anything about these. This one has the extra(?) seeder boxes for planting grass seed.Appears to be in working order but is missing the cyl. It looks like it would take a longer than standard implement cyl.Anybody know about this? It is also missing the lids for the grass seed boxes. Isn't White now part of Agco? thanks.

Yup, White is part of Agco now.

Grass seeder? This is a corn/ soybean planter, right? No one ever planted grass in strip before, might want to look at that a little closer. :) Fertilizer tubs are generally in front of the corn boxes, insecticide or erbicide or combo insect/herb tubs are generally behind.

I would get an operators manual which is available from the museum in Charles City. Also double check as they were available with Oliver plates and they also had a "kit" so you could use plastic John Deere type plates. When I worked for the Oliver dealer we sold a good number of them and had very good luck with them.

Yes White is AGCO now. Thoes extra hoppers are for insecticide or herbicide I would know of no reason to have a small seed hopper on a corn soybean planter. The hyd cilinder should be a standerd 8".
