Hello, I am looking at a JD 820 MOCO to replace my worn out 479 NH. Is this a good machine?? Or should I look at a NH again??? Thanks for your input!!!!!

I had a 720, which is just a lighter version of an 820. I bought it new in "99 and thought is was a good machine. I traded it last year on a new 926 disc Mo/Co and thought I died and went to heaven.

The tractor I mow with is a JD 2030 60HP. I don't think it has enough HP to run a disc mower that is why I am looking at the sickle's. Thanks for your input!!!

I pull a 10ft drum mower(traded 720 for it) with a 3020 up and down hills no sweat.

Ponchobro,the header(platform)attaches at 3 places and if you don't have super smooth fields it won't follow ground well. I run JD tractors and balers(also worked for Deere dealer for over 20 yrs.) but run NH cutters because IMHO JD has never made the best hay cutter except for a #5 mower. Tx Jim
