I am trying to find a large diameter V belt pulley about 16" in diameter.....would take a bigger one if I could find it...say 24". I need it for a cornsheller...would anybody happen to have something in the farm junkpile? you can email me at: [email protected]

I used to build carwash machinery. At the end of some washes there's a dryer that drags felt strips over the car to dry it. Those rigs have a big pulley on them. Maybe you can find a dealer that has a junk machine. Just an idea.

I just bought a Int. 464 tractor last week end and now I'm looking for a plow for the 3-point. From what I've heard, the tractor will handle a 3- bottom plow (18"). So if anybody has a 3-18" bottom plow like that please e-mail me at [email protected]

What corn gets picked in these parts is generally done with a New Idea one or two row picker. Now, you must have not drank much if any 'shine if you think you can chug a lug good likker. HAR! Good whiskey is for sippin..or at least slow drinking. Good 'shine is clear, almost odorless and goes down real smooth, then it sets your guts on fire and about three pulls on the mason jar is all you'll need before requiring help to walk.

The wife went to college at U of Kentucky- she said she got into some 'shine once, and claims it is the only way a person of limited athletic ability like her can actually walk on the ceiling!

Moonshine has strange and varied capabilities! Now, I never did see the ceiling walk..... but would love to...hehehe!

Worst thing is the snakes crawling up in the bed and the fall off a cliff that goes forever. I had an uncle once who came in pretty well soused one time. He got in a bed by himself and he heard the wind chimes tinkling on the porch. He hollered at my aunt....help me Lorraine, the angels is comin' to get me. She hollered back, GDmit..go to sleep Smoke, the angels don't want you and the devil wouldn't have you. HAR! That was a LONG time ago.

Of course I'd be more than glad to pay the shipping. I'd like to have a single groove pulley from 16" to 24"..anything in between would be fine. The shaft diameter is 7/8's...but the hub can be bored or sleeved...that's no problem. email me at: [email protected] and we'll talk. thanks very much.

Years ago my dad motorized his old cornsheller. He made a wood pulley probably about 2" thick without a groove and bolted it to the flywheel with bent over bolts that hooked to the spokes on the flywheel. It's a large diameter like you describe. The motor pulley was small, maybe 2" diameter. The belt stayed on fine with just the motor pulley and a flat surface to ride on on the wood pulley.

Do you have room to put in an intermediate Jack shaft and do the pulley reduction in two steps rather than one? Put in a junk transmission to get your rpm. Just some thoughts.

Know what you mean about prices on pulley, so forgive you asking here. Would just mention that V belts will run on flat pulleys, especially when they are that big. An old model T front wheel maybe?

I considered trying a flat pulley...they're easier to find....I thought too, one of the serpentine belts with a proper motor pulley used with an old flat pulley would work fine.

What size shaft? The old AC combines have lots of different size pulleys on them.

It takes a 7/8's shaft. I had a fellow recommend looking at a combine, but here in eastern Kentucky a combine is about as common as an elephant!

I don't know what folks are ready to pay for a new iron pulley....but just price them sometime. Makes $3 gas look dirt cheap.

I need the large diameter (12" and up) to reduce the rpms. The cheap aluminum or zinc cast pulleys don't get much bigger than 12" and most hardwares rarely carry them that big.

A good farm/home store should haver them or be able to order you one. I've gotten blake pullys for some of the things I build from them

I have converted a meat grinder,tomato squeezer and corn sheller to belt drive.I use the big pulleys off of old clothes dryers.
