I am renting a house while we build one. Today I found a Ferguson 2 bottom disc plow in the woods behind the house. It looks to be in good shape and at the discs rotate freely. I have a single bottom Ford 101 plow that I use with my 2N but I have never used a disc plow. What is the advantage of a disc plow ? Will my 2n pull it ? How much should I offer for it ?

Any info would be really helpful !

Thanks !

It was ideal for mixing heavy surface trash with soil, constructing and maintaining terraces, working heavy or wet soils that don't scour easily, plowing in fields infested with stones or roots, and for penetrating hard packed soils.

I know or want to know very little about Ford Tractors, but a 2N should pull a 2 disc. As advantage maybe none, unless you have rocky land. When I was growing up in Southwest Missouri disc plows were all you saw where I live until the auto reset plows came out. Disc plows will roll over the rocks if it needs to. The next question is does it have the scrapers on it, if not it will not level worth a crap. They are how you adjust the way it throws the dirt

Thanks for the info guys !

Sounds like it should work well around here as all we have is heavy red clay and lots of white flint rocks.

Unfortunately is does not have the scrapers.

Thansk Again !
