Hi , Friday morning some friend's of mine , while taking their son to the bus stop looked into their pasture to find someone had killed two of their donkey's and wounded a third . Shot them in the head right between the eyes with a small caliber rifle . What goes through someones mind to do something like this ? They also shot a deer down the road and left it according to the sheriff , also with a small caliber rifle so they think it's the same one/s . These donkey's were family pet's . So senseless . ....Randy

Anheiser-Busch has one of their Clydesdale farms in our neighborhood here and a few years ago, some d*mn kids with a 22 shot a several pregnant mares deliberately in their stomachs. Several died. They were eventually caught and slapped on the wrist. The brewery seriously considered closing the farm after that, but the locals successfully begged them to stay.

Sounds like you have some up and coming serial killers in your area. I hope the police catch them before those jerks start practicing on people.

Not that it would ever happen, but they should never make it to the jail if they are ever caught, OR, a time for some vigilante justice.
Because, you and I know that the law is NOT going to do anything to them, especially if their parents are good, upstanding "citizens".

In the old days, even 15 years ago, sometimes the guys that got caught doing stuff like that would accidentally fall down the stairs a few times. 'Specially if they were "regular customers". After a few times through the "spin cycle" a lot would actually start behaving. Of course the ACLU and the lawyers would have a field day with that stuff these days, ala Rodney King. Funny, same people who complain about the over-zealous cops are the ones wanting vigilante justice, unless they're the jerks comitting the crime. Gives gun owners and hunters a bad name too. Same with shot up road signs. Trash is trash.

We had a young feller driving around at nite, jacklighting, and shooting. Got at least a couple horses. Last I heard, he was doing 4 years in the greybar hotel. Sometimes...

Hi , Yeah , shooting a farm animal that's not your own is a crime committed with a firearm . I don't know if it's a felony crime or not , but anytime a firearm is used in the commission of a crime it usually mean's the person end's up in at least the county jail . I hope anyway ! ...Randy

If they would have been untitled mustangs or wild burros there is a fine of $10,000 per head and a jail term of three years per animal.

Its been a long time since I heard the term "jacklighting" ! When I was young, you could shine a light at a deer legally so long as you did not have a gun.Now it is outlawed because too many people were shooting the deer.Unfortunately, spotlighting is a popular "sport" around here ( central NC ).Its a danged shame that these sorry people ruined it for the rest of us.

Its a worst shame that these crumbs would kill someones livestock.

I was into some mischief when I was a kid but would never even think of doing anything like that.

I hope they catch them !

In ILL you can not shine a spotlight or headlights on any deer armed or unarmed ,they ticket you for wildlife harassment and it only costs 800.00 and up depending on the judge .

About 35 years ago we had some "kids" come into
our pasture and cut off 10 cows' tails. This was
something that was planned as they brought the
lopping shears with them. Sad that people can be
so thoughtless even to an animal. These "kids"
were 18 to 20 at the time and are now some of the
town's leading citizens. I wonder if they ever
think back to the good old days of youth.

Hi Edchainsaw , I re-read my post after I posted it . I don't think it came across as I intended . I totally agree with you . I also need to clarify the the last statement I made . Most of that was aimed at the urban side of the human race not the rural . Most farm kid's and young adult's do fairly well with the respect but not all . ...Randy

Hi Edchainsaw , You're kiddin right ? " But they're just kids " got the ones out of trouble a few years ago that broke into a dog pound and beat all the dog's and cat's to death with a stick . They were between 15 and 20 also . Bad thing about that one was the parent's of the kid's defended the kid's action's because they was " Just foolin around - no harm done " . Kid's were laughing and bragging about it in school about the the ones that they took their time killing . They say that animal abuse is a lead in to child abuse , I don't know . I'm just getting more and more upset at the way the human race is headed . No respect for anything except when it's them getting " Dissed " ! .....Randy
