Converting a New Holland spreader to farm trailer

I picked up a New Holland 513(?) spreader from a scrap metal yard today. It needs a floor and one of the drive chains is broken.

Any advice (or plans) on how to convert the spreader to a firewood trailer?

Is there any point in trying to repair the chain and make the trailer self-unloading by the pto?

We had an old farmhand spreader that we used. The beaters were shot so we removed them and kept the apron in working order. it worked sweet for unloading fire wood. Just backed up to pile and run it on idle.

Thanks for the advice. So when I rebuild the floor I should plan to keep the "apron" intact and make repairs to the chain, as necessary.

If your apron is actualy powered off the pto as some are not and only the beaters are powered with the pto, If that would be the case the apron would do you no good
