Can anyone advise me on knotters for a 430 baler? I am about to replace the knives because what I have read on the forum pages its probably the problem, however I have read that it's got parts that are interchangeable with other balers, what about the knotters themselves? I don't need them now but have been looking into what parts are available yet and they don't seem to be any longer. What about the twine grabber (told that's what its called) crome with sq notches sort of a round set of disks (2) finger that fits between? Is there somewhere in the N.E preferably PA. that has parts for the IH430, or anywhere else in the USA that is good to deal with? What price range would the knotter fall into?

I have been reading the pages here for just a bit but have found that there is great advise, and through my limited experience with my baler, right on the money. Thank you all, you have helped me before with your replies to other's questions

you can get all the parts you need from IH I have a parts book but is not home now but you can order them from dealer. I have one and after I changed twine I have not missed a bale. Old twine in it was sisal and had gotten damp and swelled good luck

Ralph, I have a IH-430 wire baler, and have no trouble finding parts. There were many many more of the twine balers made than the wire ones so your IH dealer should have all parts you will need, if you can give the part number and double check everything with your own manuals. I have 3 IH Manuals for the IH-430: Operator Manual, a Service Manual, and a Parts Manual. If you are interested in the manuals send me an email.

Hi Ralph, my brother has a 430 and bought a 435 for $300 CND last spring for parts. The best knotters are the "all twine" knotters. The all twine knotters work with plastic or regular baler twine and they do not appear to be sensitive to the thick and thin spots in the twine like the older knotters on the 45,46,47 series balers.
The all twine knotters can be recognized by having a spring loaded adjustment on the twine disks or holder or grabber.

Not really answering your question but just some general info.
