Anybody have a parts book they can post? - need the section on knotters. Have read the past postings about the 46's knotters and seems the twine knives are required to be kept sharp. What else works to improve the 46 other than keep em clean. Appreciate any help. Dick Davis

Make sure the twine knifes are adjusted so that the twine is cut clean. No threads left this will untie the knot. Adjust bill hooks are not to tight and also if the twine bills look worn out then replace them. They should have at least 3/8" on the lower part and the hook maybe 1/4 at lest. You can get them through your ih dealer. The twine bill if working right should have an eye of about 3/4 to 1" long. Also run the plunger at a speed of about 60 strokes per mintue or there about. The twine tension in the twine box can change as the twine in the ball changes. Sometimes you have to read just for a new ball maybe in the middle tighten it down alittle or something. A lot of the problems with these old balers is they are run to fast. There like me if the speed limt was 45 that would be just right.
