In reference to my previous post about my NH 415 discbine with the cutterhead problems...I bought it used last summer and if I have cut 100 acres it would surprise me. It does look like someone has been inside this area of my discbine before...makes me wonder if someone did some sort of quick fix to haul it to the dealers to trade off. If so, I wonder how some people sleep at night. Additionally, this discbine is hooked to my JD 4430 that I made numerous posts on the JD board about weak hydraulics after the fluid warmed up. At the end of my last cutting, the hydraulics finally went completely south and it ended up being the 2 speed. Well, $2900 later, the tractor shifts great and is usable, but I still have weak hydraulics...so seems like the 2 speed was an additional problem, and it appears that the main pump is in need of replacement as well. I was a least grateful the the 4430 was useable...until today when I pulled the discbine up to the shop to dismantle it...and I notice antifreeze all over the place...now I have a radiator leak. I am already a couple weeks late cutting my hay and a couple small fields I do for friends/neighbors...and now all these problems. It appears that I have one POS pulling another POS!! Am seriously thinking about fixing them both and trading for an newer 80ish hp tractor and a new disc mower. What do you reccommend as far a tractors and disc mowers. Have heard Vermeer, NI, and Vicon mentioned a lot on this board, but don't know which is better...also, cannot find a website for Vicon to get information. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks, Tim
