Looking for a seeder for my ATV. Looked at Herd and some others. Want to use it for Timothy seed. Anyone have one they like?
Thanks

I got one from Norther Tool. It works good and it was cheap. I have spread a lot of Timothy, Clover, Alfalfa, Sorgum, etc. Just go to Northern tools dot com (it would not let me drop a web site in this post) It spread the seeds about 10 feet in each direction off of the back of the ATV. I normally try to lap about 15 feet between tracks when broadcasting. That gives me a good overlap and guarantees a better distribution of seeds.

I have a Herd Seeder and has worked great. I haven't used any of the others to compare. I seed alfalfa and timothy in standing wheat and get excellent results. The company has been around a long time and support their product.

I have one I purchased from Cabelas. Works very well and is easy to attach/detach. Only bad thing about using a seeder on an ATV is it's difficult to run a consistent speed.

I agree the seeder from Cabelas is the best one I have come across, now as for regulating the speed. What I did was find the setting that worked for me when I was in low gear wide open, that way I kept the same speed all the time ( usually unless in very ruff terain). I use mine for seeding Lespediza as well as fescue and orchard grass does a great job.
