I have found plastic baling twine, barb wire, and pieces of telephone wire wrapped under the turtles. Usually after my 1st round, I get off and put my hand on each turtle and see if one is hotter than the other, if it is, I take off that turtle and check.

Sounds like a bearing, I have also heard of them binding up when there is too much oil in the gear box and it gets too hot...Jim

Had a NH 411 (which was a Kuhn); when one of the turtles got warm, it meant a bearing was going bad. I'd check about every hour or so for warmth. Also see if there is any wobble whatsoever; if so, it isn't safe to run it-those spin at 100mph or so! One day, one of the turtles split & half of it came out from under there; haal of a bang; took 20 minutes to find it-it was up in the next field; could have severed a tire or my head!

Without putting an eye on it, I'd say you've got a fried bearing.
