Hello Folks

I am wondering if anyone can comment if they have used this combination (NH 277 + Farmall M) before or not?

According to what I have read this baler requires 30 HP. The Stock M is 30 HP. I have a pretty fresh rebuild done and I would think I am getting the full HP out of it. I don't know the weight of the 277 so I'm not sure if it would push my M around with a loaded wagon or not...

Obviously most concerned about if my M can handle this model baler.

Thanks for your help.

The lack of a live pto would be a concern; with live pto you can make it work. without live pto you are really on the edge any time you get to a slug, can't let the clutch slip.

I run a 270 baler behind an IHC 300 - works great. With the TA & live pto, it's a great match. Power is enough - as long as I have enough gears to pick from & a live pto.

Depends on what your baling..... .lighter grasses bale alot easier than high yeilding alfalfa. Also, I hope the M has had bigger sleeves and pistons installed at the last OH or you"ll be a tad short on power with the stock 248 powerplant IMO.

We often baled alfalfa/timothy mix with a NH 311 and pulled it with a M-TA that had a C281 engine..... ..The baler had a thrower and we pulled kicker wagons too. It was a bit slowing going in heavy hay, but it got the job done. Ran a NH 269 and NH 275 with it too.
