Where is the knotter factory at?

Does anybody know where the factory is at that forges the knotter parts for different company's that make square balers? It seems that the parts on knotters from different manufactures are close to the same with just enough difference that they won't enterchange. I was wondering if there was a place that made all of them with different specifications. I am working on a Ford baler now and the New Holland parts will almost enterchange they can be made to fit. Thanks

Dad said that several years ago he used NH knotters for replacements on his Oliver 50 baler.

I did some research on this a year or so ago and thanks to Roy UK, found that NH, JD, and Ford all used knotters made by a company in Germany named Rasspe. Apparently they are a major manufacturer of Ag parts since the 1800's. IH and MF used knotters based on the IH design. The major difference is the orientation of the billhook. The Rasspe uses a wiper and the IH has the billhook inline and the bale movement pulls the knot off the billhook. I had asked before if anyone knew how the Case, AC, Oliver etc. were designed in an attempt to help identify possible suppliers for parts no longer supported... You are right though, it does appear to me that I could make JD knotter parts on my Ford if I had to. My experience is limited with the NH so I am happy to hear your views

It looks like the older NH knotters that have the mounting bolt like the Ford I believe will fit, the top part is a little wider than the Ford. But Jerry please don't ruin a good baler by putting green parts on it be sure that they are blue or red.I got the NH knotter laid out and disassembled next to the Ford knotter and I do believe that they could be made to work but I am still looking for the Ford knotter because I am trying to stay original. Thanks

It would be a shame to do it but if the baler needs repair.... I have a rattle can of paint. LOL

Jerry, I don't know if you ever found out but my old Case 133 uses wipers on the billhook.

Jerry, at least the late model A-C square balers used Rasspe knotters, and someone here (I don"t remember who) told me that New Holland knotter parts will go right on an A-C 444 or 443 baler.
I"ve heard besides the Rasspe and McCormick-Deering knotters, there"s a Claas knotter, too, also out of Germany, not sure who all besides Claas use it.

Yes lots of baler manufactures use Rasspe knotters, The Claas knotter is similar to the IH ie the there is no stripper arm, the billhook is inline and the bale movement pulls the knot off the billhook.

i was told there was basically 2 types of knotters baring aside the early years. probably the factory is in mexico or china!
