Get a hitch crossbar with the holes like Ford or Fergeson used for a drawbar. Clamp this in the mounting clamps and hook up, that is if you have 3pt. Then buy, or fabricate a longer drive shaft. Remember safty first. Keep the sheilds and adjust the lift limit.

I just picked up a #9 to replace the #8 I smashed on a ledge, broke the big castings. At any rate, the #8 with the tailwheel is a heck of a lot easier to use than the #9. Plus the bar raised hydraulicly. I thought a 3pt would be easier, but it isn't. Live and learn.

We just used a length of 3" angle iron and drilled holes to suit. Worked fine.

In my opinion this is one of the biggest problems with this mower. It takes way too many accessory parts to fit it up. I do admit however, it's a secure arrangement when you finally get it on. But what a pain to find the parts and assemble the unit on the tractor. When I bought my 9W, I was fortunate or luckly enough, to buy several packages to fit tractors I either owned or would reasonably expect to own. These extra parts will only go if the mower is sold. Dave H had one good suggestion, make the parts. However if I intended to mow very much and could have a "do over", I would look for another mower which is easier to attach.

If you can't find em, fab em. I needed to put a JD #5 mower on a Farmall and could not find the hardware so I blocked the mower in position behind the tractor, took some measurements, and headed to the scrapyard. Got the steel on the cheap and then gave the steel and the drawing to a welder who was just starting up shop. Less than $50 bucks later I had my hardware and I have used it ever since.
