Local NH dealer here in eastern Ontario has two balers. NH s69 with 50 thrower. Looks a little rough , I think it has been outside a lot but not all paint gone. The guy said it worked excellent in 2004 , no hay this year. Could use paint but seems all there and no hay left in chamber. They want $1250 cdn. The other baler is coming in so I have not seen it yet. It is a NH 273 with thrower and he says is in better looking shape. $1600 cdn. To me both seem high but I am not sure. I need to replace my NH 66. Any advice or comments? Thanks Paul.

The 69 was made between 1959 to 1961, or real close to that. I have one, that I have retired this year. It was a reliable baler, but that whole thing has too much wear now. The only trouble I had was with it making a curved bale. Feeder fork adjustment had zero effect. I ended up welding a piece of 2" flat bar on one of the wedges in the bale chute, on the side that was coming out long. This help hold the hay back until the knot was tied. Worked for me.
