Hello,
I just purchased a case 220 baler and have sheared both needles. was hoping someone might have a pair they would be willing to part with. also any advice as to why they might have sheared would be helpful.

IMHO, (some will no doubt argue my point) you could have done better with a JD, NH or MF. Case was never very popular around here and don't have much of a reputation either. |:(| The makes above are far more common. I hope you hear from a Case owner who can help you. M2CW.

Needles get sheared off when the baler gets out of time. This routinely happens, when the baler shears a shear bolt while it is in the process of bringing the needles up. After replaceing the shear bolt, you need to bring the needles back to HOME position, before you put the PTO back in gear. If the Case needles are anything like New Holland and Massey Ferguson, then they can be welded back together, with no ill effects. Good luck.
