I saw a post that you had put up but I did not have time to respond... I see that it was one of the casualties of the hack. If I remember correct you have a cracked set of knotters on the right side. My recommendation is to see if a local shop can weld them back. The pressure on the frame is not that great if everything else is in sync. I feel honored that you would even look at a Ford baler but welcome to the Blue side of life..... Let me know if I can be of service in any way

Yes you are right,I bought a 542 blue baler,I have to keep it away from all those red and yellow balers afraid that they might try to eat it or something. I found a knotter frame in my collection of baler parts that is a Ford,so now when I can get time will get it running and use it before end of season. I have joined the Blue Baler Association and one of these days I will put in a picture. Thanks

Better keep them Red and Yellow ones in a pack. They don't stand a chance against that old blue baler alone..... LOL I am truly excited that you will get this one running and can give me a better view of the NH comparison to the Ford. Garry Campbell has a 273 and a 542 and now considers them about equal after he worked for a while on a 542 that was very tired. Please send me email if there is anything that I can do to help...
