How do you know that the blades are "hitting each other"? My KingKutter has two blades mounted diametrically across from one another on a heavy steel carrier. When being driven by the PTO, centrifugal force tend to keep the blades pointing out radially. No way to hit one another. Is your cutter new? My blades were in the shipping position when I got it and they were "folded" back across the blade carrier. I straightened them out before I used it. If your blades are hitting anything it could be that your gearbox is loose and need to be tightened. Your gearbox bearings might be worn, too.
This is all I can think of given the small ammount of information you provided.
