I have a McCormick horsedrawn virticle corn binder that I am restoring. Found a poster in the Wisconsin Hist. Society. (they have a lot of McCormick info) showing this binder using three colors, red, yellow, and blue. Does anyone know the source/name of a present day equivelent color and paint?

recent talks about this in the paint section. This is my #12 mower. I used PPG 70019 (dupont 7410) for Havester Red aka IH50. For Havester Blue pre 1947 I used PPG 10067. My sugestion is to buy a small amount paint first and see how it looks to you.

Wisconsin Hist. Society has a color chart on its website that you can use. The red on these real old machines is not the Farmall Red we know today, it should be a brighter red{Dupont 7410). You can use this number and any parts store can cross reference them to different paint manufacturers. I think I did see a number for International Blue on this website a while back.

Bob, I have a one row IHC corn binder as well. Looking to repaint it. It is difficult to determine which parts are originally red, blue, cream, etc. I have found that TSC and some hardware chains (Ace, e.g.) have close approximations. Hope this helps. Ben
