allis WD impliment hook up ?

Just bought a Allis WD serial number says its made in the 50"s. I want to get a scraper blade for the back. What is the hook up style called. I have heard snap coupler is that correct. I have a picture of the rear end posted in the help identify under 1950 wd. Thanks Mike

Mike, It looks like you will have to purchase one or the other types of lifts. Your tractor has the old style "pin" lift and would have to be converted to either a snap coupler or 3-point. From the standpoint of implement affordability and utility, the 3-point system would probably make the most sense. You can find both types of systems if you look at the ad section on this sight, at Chat's tractors, or on e-bay. Make certain you know what you want before spending the money.

The WD came out in '48 with a pin mounting system,. The WD45 came in '53 with the Snap-Coupler. Many WD tractors were converted by adding the bell housing that accepted the SC tongue.

Mike,I have the same tractor,it looks like a standard draw bar set up to me.If it"s a snap coupler the draw bar under the tractor should have a big round hole at the end that snaps into a hook.Most implements of allis design that are snap coupler the draw bar is part of the implement.Any way if you hop on over to the allis site them boys sure do seem to know there stuff.There are retro fit 3pnt.systems available one that comes to mind is Saginaw County Tractor Parts,do a web search,they have some intresting pictures of the set up.

yep snap coupler is the right name for what a WD had. Maybe fun to find one for it since almost every thing is 3 point.

I think I would get the 3 point set up for the Allis and then buy equipment that fits the 3 point. You may be able to find a blade but then you still have to find what ever else you may want to use and try to make it work with a snap coupler hitch( bush hog, posthole digger, etc.)
