Help me reassemble JD Model 30 thrower

Hello all, I finally got to pickup the thrower for our 336 in Centreville NB, near were Kent in NB lives.

I shoulda got some pics this am but no luck. We drug the darn thing out of a back corner past a potato winrower and a huge pull type rock picker.

So get her out and we seem to be missing some stuff. I've never seen another pan thrower so I'll list what is there:
-adjuster rod for the throw dial
-2 shallow v-shaped brackets with pins at the root of the V, look like aiming mechanism.
-wagon hitch, seems much longer than any of the pictures in the parts books.
-Thrower assembly including oil tank, cylinders, valve etc.

I'm definately missing the pump, maybe the accumulator? Don't know where it would be located.
Missing the aiming clyinder and brackets if there are some.

Anyone have some good pics of how it goes together?

Rick, I did just that but was only able to get what looked to be scanned microfiche at low resolution. Couldn't tell much of anything except the local dealer wants like 800$ for the wagon hitch and about 5000$ for the latest model thrower!

You definately need the pump. That's an important piece. The aiming cylinder is not necessary, but nice to have. Need the lines that go from the pump to the thrower.

Go on Ebay and get yourself the operators manual for around $10. Search for "30 ejector". It covers a lot of info, including installation. I'd be most concerned about finding that pump.

You also need the axle offset bracket for the wheel on the plunger side to re-balance the baler after the thrower is on.

Check on the offset axle, the thrower came off our baler 15 years ago and its tongue is so heavy it kills jacks like crazy.

I'll look for a manual, anyone know of a downloadable PDF version?

Ah! This thing doesn't pivot like a conventional thrower at all! the 2 v brackets go on top of the bale case and the thrower rocks about a horizontal axis.

An the hitch is long because it isn't the push up the ramp type hitch.

If it came off your baler you're ahead of the game. You shouldn't have much trouble putting it on then, so long as you have all the parts.

Unfortunately most people that sell these throwers don't realize the buyer usually needs the wheel and pump brackets as well.

If you live near PA, Fry's Machinery has 100's of these on piles for salvage.

Unfortunately I'm very far away, in Canada. I'll keep looking for the pump and brackets though.
