I am headed home to Montana in a couple of weeks and will be bringing back a Farhand wheel rake that my Dad had. I believe it has 5 wheels on it. I will be using a 18 foot car trailer to load it on and began to wonder how wide it is. I guess if it's too wide I'll have to break it down to get it on. If anyone knows how wide they are can yo let me know that way I can plan on what to do.

Thanks,
Bobg

I hauled one those one time for a neighbor on my car hauler trailer. There is no way it will fit without breaking it down unless you let it stick out the side(which I wouldn't recommend if your going any distance down a highway). They don't weigh very much so thats not really a factor, but they sure are awkward to load.

i think it will fit pretty well but have some wrenches along like rusty says, You will at least have to take the hitch off.

Plan on breaking it down, I don't know the exact width, but I know it will not fit on the trailer without hanging over the sides.

Nebraska Cowman & Rusty Farmall,

Thanks for the info. I figured I would have to take at least the hitch off. I am now raking with an old JD 495 low wheel and have to trave quite a distance between fields. The JD rake with the dolly wheels on that back doesn't trail that good hooked behind my mower.

Thanks again,
Bobg

I was going to measure my 3pt 5-wheel rake but haven't gotten to the farm yet. Sure looks (from memory) like it would fit on my car trailer tho. Is yours a 3pt? Anyhow they come aprat easy, so if you need to take a wheel pair off or the hitch, no big deal. Mine is a generic brand, but all are about the same. If you totally dis-assemble it be sure you took pictures, notes, or have the manual - that pile of parts will look real hard to put together properly again! :)
