I see old wood sided manure spreaders used as yard decorations all the time. Here's one I spotted in the used equipment yard of a JD dealer in Kalispell MT over the weekend. It looks like it's useable to me.

Usable.

We have one, although we haven't used it in years. They work quite well, just make sure you clean it up when your done.

They're ground driven, I can't remeber the model number/letter but I have the manual at home.

I don't think I would put it in my front yard...

Looks like a model N John Deere PTO 125 bu. spreader of the late 50's - 60's and a high priced piece of equipment

I"m sorry but I can"t respect someone who has a great big $hit thrower in their front yard as some sort of decoration. Now an assortment of johns with the lids up and flowers growin out... there are some folks I don"t want to set down to supper with either. Why don"t they just put up a big 4x8 sign in the yard that says "idiots live here"

BOY! are you ever closed minded. Many people put vintage farm equipment in their front yard. The fact that this is a manure spredder, has no bearing on that.

Around here ANY old spreader is worth too much money to be used as yard art. Doesn"t make much difference whether it is wood sided or all steel, even the spreaders that are in pieces bring good money.

You could use it to spread a load of manure in your yard to make the grass grow. If it breaks down, just leave it there as a yard ornament. It would already be loaded with some good "stuff" to plant your flowers in.

Well if you have it to spread it would probably work just fine. But it could also double for the yard also. That way you get 2 for the price of one. LOL

Im sure some are usable as spreaders, also very good wood wagons. Low to the ground and easy to load.

Hi , I know this is past looking at but around here people remove the beaters and haul firewood in them . Then if it's pto driven they use it as a self unloader , I've seen some spread light loads of gravel on their lanes ; two passes at 4' wide does a good job with the right ground speed , needs a endgate set at about 2" high . Granted - it's rough on it . ...Randy
